Preliminary Course Descriptions

Bible/Religion

Besides the studies in Bible, religion, and church history that will be integrated into the Humanities course, we will require two semesters of Religion/Theology covering topics that will help equip our students to be thinking, functioning Christians.

One course will be “Foundations of Christian Belief,” essentially a worldview and apologetics course that will study the truth claims of Christianity and other religious and philosophical options; and “Christian Living,” a course that covers the basics of the Christian life and some of the key ethical issues facing Christians today.

Computers

One semester of Computers will be required: a basic computer skills class, or for those students who are already computer literate, a more advanced course, where logic, as it applies to computers and programming will be emphasized.

Rhetoric

In keeping with our classical mission, all Trinity students will take one semester of rhetoric. Students will study and practice public speaking, debate, declamation, and Robert’s Rules, as well as studying rhetorical theory. This class will help prepare students for further studies in drama and debate as well as for their senior project.

Senior Project

All students will complete a senior project and present it to their peers and their teachers. The form of this project will vary according to the subject, but it will include both a written component and an oral presentation. This will be the culminating event of the Rhetoric stage, where integration and excellence in communication are the hallmarks of mastery.
