Grandparent Volunteers
January 2008
Dear Trinity Grandparents and Friends,
The school year is halfway over now, and after a welcome Christmas break, Trinity is once again humming with the excitement of classes, field trips, activities, and sports. We have especially been enjoying our new South Building, which opened its doors this past August to our growing ranks of middle school and high school students. And our new Student Activity Center, which gives us an additional, larger gymnasium as well as a wonderful gathering space, is filled with the sights and sounds of Trinity Lions fans cheering on our teams. Its an exciting time to be at Trinity! .
Besides providing a strong classical Christian education for our students, Trinity also offers a broad selection of extracurricular activities. Athletics, after-school clubs, and community service projects are some of the many opportunities available at Trinity School. Our educational programs and extracurricular activities enrich the lives of the students and help to build up the Trinity community by providing opportunities for students of different ages to grow in knowledge, in personal maturity, in their relationships with others, and in their desire to serve the Lord and their community.
A number of grandparents and friends have shared with us how much they have enjoyed the opportunity to actively participate in the Trinity community through volunteering. Through their service theyve been able to get to know the students, get involved in the classroom or in special projects, and contribute in a meaningful way to the high-quality education that Trinity provides. This year, there will be a number of short-term and regularly scheduled opportunities for volunteering, as well as some one-time special events for which volunteer help would be welcomed, and we would like to invite you to join us in volunteering at Trinity.
Some of the areas needing volunteer assistance this year include...
- Help with hospitality for receptions
- Assistance in the schools Lower School and Upper School libraries
- Volunteers for our Grandparents Day events
- Helping out at our reception desks or with Admissions Department mailings
- Service on a school committee in an area of interest
- Volunteering in the classroom for special events or as a reading buddy
These are just a few of the areas where volunteers can serve. Some of the volunteer opportunities help fill one-time or short-term needs, while others involve a weekly or monthly commitment. The times are also flexible: opportunities are available during the day, as well as in the evenings and on weekends. If you would like to and are able to volunteer, we will be glad to help you find the opportunities that fit your interests and your schedule. Just take a look at the list below, and then contact me at the Volunteer Center to let us know how you would like to be involved.

At Trinity, our volunteers have had, and continue to have, a tremendous impact on the education that we are able to provide. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the many grandparents and friends who have supported Trinity through volunteering, giving, and praying over the past twelve years. We look forward to getting to know you in fellowship and service in the coming year!
Sincerely,
Lynn Hand
