Music Program

The mission of the Music Department of Trinity School is to provide an excellent, unhurried, and age-appropriate music education that imparts a love of music to students and equips them for worship through familiarity and understanding of great music as well as through development of skills needed for performing, creating, and responding to music.

Music education at Trinity includes a thorough foundation in theory, exposure to good music and its history, and basic training in singing and playing instruments. Teachers create an atmosphere of praise for effort and accomplishments, provide opportunities for creativity, and give guidance in developing an appreciation for music through critical listening. Distinctives of our general classroom music include a schoolwide Hymn of the Month program, introduction to foreign languages in song, outstanding third and fourth grade recorder training, and an eighth grade course in hymnology. Extracurricular music opportunities are Band, Chorus, Recorder Ensemble, and Handchimes Club.
