A Warm Welcome to the Trinity Parent Organization

The purpose of the Trinity Parent Organization is to promote a strong sense of community in partnership with the school and to facilitate communication, cooperation, involvement, and service throughout the Trinity School community.

Welcome from TPO President Brent Engel

I am excited to serve as your Trinity Parent Organization (TPO) President.

My family went on a another mission trip to Haiti this summer, and servanthood is very much on my mind and heart. I find myself thinking a lot about this verse: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mark10:45) I think of servanthood as being helpful to others rather than focusing on myself, giving of myself willingly to minister for and to others in need, and doing whatever it takes to accomplish what is best for others.

How does that apply to us as a community at Trinity? I’m grateful for the work Trinity does to develop the hearts of our children to become servant leaders, to understand that true leadership is servanthood, and to follow the example Jesus gave us. If you, like me, want to continuously reinforce this attitude and foster its growth in our children, I invite you to set an example of servanthood by volunteering with the Trinity Parent Organization.

The TPO Mission Statement says this: “The Trinity Parent Organization is a service organization of Trinity School. It exists for the purpose of partnering in the education of students by fostering community-building activities and providing services for students, faculty, and families. The TPO aims to support, strengthen, and enrich the educational partnership across the Trinity community.”

The TPO is here to serve OUR school, and we need your help! We have a “mission” to engage every single Trinity parent, grandparent, and guardian affiliated with Trinity. I would like to challenge you to look for ways you might give at least one hour of your time a month in service to Trinity. There are so many ways you can help: being a Room Parent; serving Hot Lunch; setting up or tearing down–or directing parking–for Chapels and special events; planning or manning a booth at Homecoming… the list goes on. As the school year begins, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for all kinds of volunteer opportunities and to let us know how you are interested in helping to serve our school.

The TPO also seeks to promote a strong sense of community among the parents and to facilitate the partnership between the parents and the school. To that end, we hope to provide many opportunities to join in fellowship and just get to know each other. And Laura Sapp, the TPO’s President-Elect, has been hard at work planning Parent Education events for the coming year. Her enthusiasm for Trinity is remarkable, and I hope it is contagious. We hope to see you at many TPO events throughout the year.
