ISEE Requirement for Grades 5-12
Applicants must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or, for grades 11 and 12, submit PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores. Applicants may also be asked to write an on-site essay if deemed necessary. Applicants may register for the ISEE by phone (800.446.0320), fax (919.682.5775), or internet (www.iseetest.org). Additional test sites may be found on the ISEE website or in the ISEE registration booklet (available at Trinity School). ISEE practice tests are available online at www.testpreview.com. Parents must register with the ISEE Operations Office 21 days prior to the exam.
Admission Decisions
Admission decisions are made when the entire application process is complete (i.e., all required documents have been received in the Admission Office and the appropriate assessments have been completed). Once an applicant’s file is complete, the file is reviewed by the Admission Committee, which is overseen by the Director of Admission. Applicants are notified of admission decisions by mail.
Applicant Wait Pool
Due to high demand for placement and high re-enrollment rates at the school, qualified applicants may be placed in a wait pool. All students placed in a wait pool are deemed qualified for admission, should a place become available. The school does not rank applicants placed in the wait pool. Whenever a space becomes available, the school will offer admission to the candidate who is the best fit for that class.
Late Applications
Applications received after the priority deadlines will be processed and considered as they are received. While most classes are filled from our initial applicant pool, we do occasionally have spaces available in the spring and summer. Please contact the Admission Office with specific questions. The school gives precedence in the allocation of financial aid to families who meet the priority deadline.

- What if I Apply to Other Schools? How Does that Affect the Application Deadlines?
The schools listed below are all members of the Triangle Independent School Consortium (TISC). As a group, we are committed to helping parents find a good school match for their children. We recognize that our individual timetables for the admission process are as unique as our schools themselves, and we want to assure you that we are willing to accommodate the needs of families who have applied to more than one of our schools.
If you have submitted before-deadline applications to more than one of these schools, you will not be required to make a binding commitment or deposit until you have heard an admission decision from all of the schools to which you have applied.
If you receive an admission offer that asks for a reply before you will hear from another school below, please immediately contact the offering school’s director of admission to request an extension of their reply date. We have agreed to grant such requests so that families will be able to make fully informed decisions. You will be granted an extension until three days after the latest notification date of the schools to which you have applied.
Members of TISC include:
Carolina Friends School Cary Academy Duke School Durham Academy The Hill Center Immaculata Catholic School The Montessori School of Raleigh The Raleigh School Ravenscroft School Saint Mary's School St. David's School St. Timothy's School Triangle Day School Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill

Health Form
A health form must be completed for each Trinity student. This form, including an up-to-date immunization record, which is required by law, must be returned to the school office before a child is permitted to attend classes. Health forms will be mailed to the family for completion once a student is enrolled.
