Why does Trinity need to raise money?

Trinity’s operating budget is funded solely by tuition, charitable support, and income from supplementary programs such as facility rentals. Because tuition and fees cover only a portion of Trinity’s operating budget, the school relies on charitable gifts to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the cost of running the school, which includes the funds needed to recruit and retain outstanding faculty and to invest in enhancements to our educational programs.

I already pay tuition. Why should I donate to Trinity?

Trinity aims to make tuition affordable while sustaining small classes and a low student-to-faculty ratio. The Trinity Fund, our school’s annual fund, helps keep tuition as low as possible. Because tuition and fees do not cover the total cost of what it takes to provide a Trinity education each year, the school relies on the generosity of its families and others to help close the gap.

Why not charge the full cost for the services provided rather than asking for gifts? Why doesn't Trinity just raise tuition to cover the additional expenses?

Large increases in tuition could prohibit many students from having the opportunity of a Trinity education, and this would alter the diverse culture and distinctive learning environment our students currently enjoy. Through tax-deductible donations to the Trinity Fund, we can keep tuition costs more affordable and provide flexible tuition and scholarships for deserving students.

What does the money from the Trinity Fund go toward?

The Trinity Fund is our school’s primary fundraising effort, and we ask each family to participate in this effort annually. The goal for this year’s Trinity Fund is $425,000. Gifts to the Trinity Fund help sustain growth while supporting the school's highest priorities and most immediate needs. These needs range from investing in professional development for faculty to upgrading playground equipment for the Lower School and more. The following areas are supported by the Trinity Fund:

• Professional development for teachers and staff
• Fine arts projects and equipment, such as theatrical productions, musical instruments, and art supplies
• Academic and curricular support, including field trips and service projects, library books, and equipment for science and robotics
• Athletic team uniforms, sports equipment, sports-related travel, professional development for coaches, and athletic strength and conditioning

How much does Trinity expect me to give?

What you give is entirely up to you, but we hope that the Trinity Fund will be a philanthropic priority for every Trinity family. Gifts of any size support the current school year and make a meaningful difference. Only you and your family can determine the appropriate amount. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a powerful statement about your belief in and support of the mission of Trinity School.

Who gives to Trinity?

All members of the Trinity community—trustees, alumni, current families, faculty, staff, parents of our graduates, and grandparents—are asked to make a donation to Trinity School each year by June 30.

Is participation that important?

YES! 100% participation is as important as meeting our overall financial goal. Before outside funding sources, such as foundations and corporations, will consider donating their dollars to our school, they want to know that Trinity families are supporters as well. Participation in the Trinity Fund is extremely important. Every gift makes a difference, no matter the amount.

Can I make a pledge now and pay later?

Yes! Trinity operates on a pledge system. This allows donors the opportunity to make a pledge and then fulfill that pledge in installments throughout the fiscal year.

The 2021–2022 fiscal year is July 1, 2021–June 30, 2022.
