Director of Auxiliary Programs

Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill is seeking a creative, hands-on leader to steward and grow our auxiliary programs. The Director of Auxiliary Programs extends Trinity's mission beyond the classroom, into the spaces where children play, grow, and build community outside the traditional school day.

Trinity Neighborhood after-care and our Summer Camp programs are an essential part of family life at Trinity and represent the school's largest source of earned revenue outside tuition and Trinity Fund. We're looking for a team player with the creative energy to design programming that reflects our mission, the organizational skills to run multiple programs simultaneously, and the entrepreneurial drive to grow these offerings sustainably.

This position reports to the Director of Community & Belonging and is classified as exempt, full-time, year-round.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Operations

  • Design and oversee Trinity Neighborhood before-school and after-school programming, and all Summer Camp programming, that embodies Trinity's mission and fosters delight in learning and natural curiosity
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise before-school assistants, after-school assistants, and camp counselors; manage daily operations, including preparation, instruction, and clean-up
  • Market programs to current Trinity families and the wider community; build enrollment and grow revenue across all auxiliary offerings
  • Create and execute the program budget with thoughtful stewardship of resources and space
  • Communicate regularly with parents about what students are learning and experiencing
  • Ensure the health and safety of every child, documenting concerns thoroughly and promptly with families and the Director of Community & Belonging
  • Serve as a role model of Christian faith and action in all interactions with students, families, and staff

Strategic Growth & Innovation

  • Identify, develop, and implement new, revenue-generating auxiliary programming opportunities that align with Trinity's mission and respond to family needs
  • Use auxiliary programming as a lever for generating incremental revenue for the school, building out Trinity Neighborhood and Summer Camp into programming strong enough to draw families from the wider community, particularly over the summer
  • Evaluate performance using enrollment, financial, and participant feedback data; collaborate with school leadership on innovative uses of campus facilities to enhance engagement
  • Build community partnerships that expand year-round engagement with Trinity
  • Partner with the Enrollment Management team to identify Summer Camp and Trinity Neighborhood participants with strong potential for enrollment; track and report on conversion of program participants to enrolled students, with the goal of converting community families who join through auxiliary programming into new Trinity enrollments over time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience with extra-curricular programming and/or summer camps; classroom teaching experience preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to navigate multiple constituencies and complex schedules
  • Marketing or enrollment-growth experience a plus, though not required
  • A genuine love for children and a desire to foster their personal, intellectual, and spiritual growth
  • Commitment to Trinity School's classical, Christian, rich, and unhurried mission

Success Metrics

  • Increase auxiliary program enrollment by a target percentage (set annually); launch one new revenue-generating program aligned with Trinity's mission
  • Successfully lead Trinity Neighborhood and Summer Camp, improving parent satisfaction and engagement, as measured by survey data
  • Track and report annually on the conversion rate of Summer Camp and Trinity Neighborhood participants into enrolled Trinity students, with a target conversion rate set in partnership with Admissions
