Trinity School Fellows | Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill

A Year of Discernment

Each year, the Trinity School Fellows program includes two to four fellows, forming a small cohort that learns and reflects together. Fellows apply in the fall, with selections made by March 1, and begin on August 1, serving through June. Each fellow works with a mentor teacher, assisting in the classroom and gradually taking on more responsibility while also observing teachers across the school. Fellows also take part in orientation, training in the craft of teaching, weekly meetings with the program director, and cohort conversations about Trinity’s mission and the integration of faith and learning. Beyond the classroom, they contribute to the wider life of the school through coaching, extracurricular programs, and other school initiatives. Fellows may apply for full-time roles at Trinity, and the school also supports those who pursue graduate study in education or seek positions elsewhere.

The first Trinity School Fellows cohort will begin in fall 2027

Applications for the 2027–2028 school year will open in October 2026. Join our mailing list to receive notice when the application opens and to learn more about the program in the months ahead.

School With a Big Why Book Cover

School with a Big Why

Written by our head of school, Dr. Denton, this collection of essays reflects on Trinity’s third decade—giving thanks for God’s faithfulness, while clearly articulating the vision and mission that continue to shape our future. The book explores the four pillars of Trinity’s mission, the real challenges faced along the way, and the creative tensions involved in stewarding a distinctive Christian educational calling. This is a great primer for anyone looking to learn more about Trinity’s mission.  Also available at the link below is Dr. Denton’s first book, A Village Called Trinity, which focuses on the school’s early years, especially the Lower School, telling the story of Trinity’s founding and formative vision.
