Director of Trinity Neighborhood and Summer Camp Programs


Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill is seeking a creative, hands-on leader to direct our after-school and summer camp programs. The Director of Trinity Neighborhood and Summer Camp Programs is a visionary builder who can extend Trinity's mission into the spaces beyond the classroom where children play, explore, and grow.


Trinity Neighborhood and our Summer Camp programs are an essential part of family life at Trinity, serving students and parents in accessing the full scope of a Trinity education. We're looking for a team player with the creative energy to design programming that reflects our mission, the organizational skills to run several programs simultaneously, and the entrepreneurial drive to grow these offerings sustainably.
This position reports to the Director of Community and Belonging.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee before school, after-school and summer camp programming that embodies Trinity's mission and fosters delight in learning and natural curiosity
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise before school assistants, after-school assistants and camp counselors
  • Market programs to current Trinity families and the wider community 
  • Build enrollment and grow revenue across auxiliary offerings
  • Create and execute the program budget with thoughtful stewardship of resources and space
  • Communicate regularly with parents about what students are learning and experiencing
  • Ensure the health and safety of every child, documenting concerns thoroughly and promptly with families and the Director of Community and Belonging
  • Manage daily operations, including preparation, instruction, and clean-up
  • Serve as a role model of Christian faith and action in all interactions with students, families, and staff

Qualifications

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience with extra-curricular programming and/or summer camps
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to navigate multiple constituencies and complex schedules
  • A genuine love for children and a desire to foster their personal, intellectual, and spiritual growth
  • Commitment to Trinity School's classical, Christian, rich, and unhurried mission
